Few things aboard a boat communicate to observers that the owner is concerned about safety and values cutting-edge technology more than a SmartPlug 30A/125V Inlet. Uniquely designed, it overcomes the engineering flaws inherent in traditional twist-type connectors and provides a level of security that’s second-to-none.
The SmartPlug Inlet has a robust pin design that, when paired with the SmartPlug connector, delivers over 27 times more metal-to-metal contact than traditional devices. This decreases electrical resistance and resultant overheating. The asymmetrical plug pushes straight into the inlet, with no L-blades to align or bull rings to thread. A multi-point locking system eliminates stress on the pins created by movement of the power cord.
IP56-rated for a marine environment, the SmartPlug 30A/125V Inlet is available in 316 stainless steel or UV-resistant non-metallic white, gray or black. Its mounting hole pattern matches those of existing twist-type inlets, making upgrading a boat a simple 30-minute DIY job with household tools. A video is at www.bit.ly/Install-Inlet.
